Cosy Nook

Just an hours drive west of Invercargill (if you don't know which way is west, just lean into the wind) on The Southern Scenic Route is Cosy Nook.  A beautiful place to visit, a very picturesque rocky cove which is shelter to several holiday homes and the odd fishing boat. An interesting history too, named by Captain George Thomson after his homeland Scottish village, Cozy Neuk. Local Maori lived here, in the 1820’s one of the largest coastal communities was right here, consisting of 40-50 whare (houses).
